Is the M16 Damage 6 or 7?

I have been hearing people saying that the M16 damage take 6 not 7, is this true? Did the M16 get nerfed again?

It was nerfed long ago due to it's supreme versatility for a 15k gun. So the M16 actually now deals 7 damage only if it's upgraded. This made m16 less popular, but it's still a decent weapon to use. Outside of it's mediocre damage, all of it's other stats are very good for it's price.
